How to Renew Your License
Things you need to turn in to NMDA to be eligible for renewal:
- A Signed Renewal Form
- Enough CEUs
- Appropriate Renewal Fees (Check or Money Order)
- Current Certificate of Liability Insurance for Commercial Applicators
- Turn all three in by December 31st, 2016 to renew your license.
(1.) Complete Your Renewal Forms
Renewal Forms were mailed out the first week of November. They were printed on neon orange paper this year. When you receive your renewal form it is important to review the information and make sure everything is correct.
Once you have verified everything on your renewal form and signed it you will send it back in to NMDA along with any additional required documentation and payment. If changes need to be made to your contact information please note them on your renewal form.
(2.) Meet Your CEU Requirements
CEU Requirements for Different Applicators
Commercial Applicators – 4 General CEUs
Commercial Applicators with the 7D – Wood Destroying Pest Category – 4 General CEUs and 4 Termite (7D) CEUs
Operator Technicians – 0 CEUs
Termite Technicians – 4 Termite (7D) CEUs
Public Applicators – 4 General CEUs
Public Applicators with the 7D – Wood Destroying Pest Category – 4 General CEUs and 4 Termite (7D) CEUs
Non-Commercial Applicators – 4 General CEUs
Non-Commercial Applicators with the 7D – Wood Destroying Pest Category – 4 General CEUs and 4 Termite (7D) CEUs
Pest Management Consultants – 0 CEUs
Pest Management Consultants with the 7D – Wood Destroying Pest Category – 4 Termite (7D) CEUs
Private Applicators – 5 General CEUs
CEUs must be obtained prior to the December 31st deadline. If you have not obtained your CEUs before January 1st, 2017 you will not be eligible for renewal.
(3.) Send in the Correct Renewal Fees
Renewal Fees for Different Applicators
Commercial Applicators – $75.00 per applicator
Operator Technicians – $50.00 per applicator
Termite Technicians – $50.00 per applicator
Public Applicators – $0.00 per applicator
Non-Commercial Applicators – $75.00 per applicator
Pest Management Consultants – $75.00 per applicator
Private Applicators – $15.00 per applicator
NMDA accepts either checks or money orders at this time as method of payment for renewing your license. Renewal fees must be paid prior to the December 31st deadline.
If you have not paid your renewal fee before January 1st, 2017 you will have to pay double fees. Our late renewal period runs from January 1st through January 31st, 2017. (You can renew during this late period only if you have met your CEU requirements prior to January 1st.)
(4.) Insurance for Commercial Applicators
NMDA requires each commercial pesticide company to provide current Certificate of Liability Insurance. Commercial applicators must submit this for their business in order to renew their license for the year.
(5.) Turn in your Renewal Packet by December 31st, 2016
If you submit your Renewal form, CEUs, renewal fee, and proof of insurance by December 31st, 2016 you can renew your license. Renewal Packets must be postmarked prior to the December 31st deadline. If you have not turned in your renewal packet before January 1st, 2017 you will have to pay double fees. Our late renewal period runs from January 1st through January 31st, 2017. (You can renew during this late period only if you have met your CEU requirements prior to January 1st. If you do not obtain your CEUs prior to January 1st, 2017 you will not be eligible for renewal.)
