Information about Cost-Share Reimbursement

Please see below for further information about the latest changes to the Cost-Share Reimbursement Program:

September 19, 2018

Dear New Mexico- Organic Producers and Handlers:

Over the past several years, NMDA has applied for grant money to implement the Organic Certification Cost Share Program (OCCSP) from USDA to help New Mexico producers/handlers offset the cost of organic certification. However, the grant money that NMDA was utilizing was transferred to USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA); therefore, NMDA will NO longer process any cost share (OCCSP) applications. The transition of OCCSP from NMDA to FSA was effective August 22, 2018.

Information pertaining to OCCSP can be found at https://www.fsa.usda.gov/programs-and-services/occsp/index. [1] NMDA organic certification participants are encouraged to contact their local FSA county office for questions regarding cost share reimbursement (OCCSP) and OCCSP application. Information regarding the location of all local FSA county offices can be found at http://offices.usda.gov [2]. Additionally, if there are further questions in the New Mexico FSA State Office may be contacted at the address below:
