The 2014 Farm Bill funded Cost-Share Reimbursement for organic certification costs for five years beginning in 2014. The cost-share program reimburses 75% of annual certification expenses (application fees, assessments) for each organic certificate, to a maximum of $750/certificate/year. Depending on the funding received from the USDA, there may not be sufficient funds to reimburse every organic operation; reimbursements will be issued in the order applications are received until the funds are exhausted. You must have a current organic certificate to be eligible.
Rollout for the program is expected in late summer of 2014. All certified operations will be notified when applications are available for 2014 reimbursement. Upon rollout of the program, applications for reimbursement will be available here.
