About VDS
Background
VDS was created by action of the New Mexico Legislature under Chap 100, NMSA Laws of 1978.
Mission Statement
These include: To provide accurate, timely diagnostic support in the pursuit of animal disease diagnosis for the citizens of New Mexico, including the livestock industry and veterinary profession.
In Cooperation With...
VDS works in cooperation with local, state, and federal agencies. These include:
- New Mexico Livestock Board
- New Mexico Department of Health - Scientific Laboratory Division
- USDA/APHIS-Veterinary Services
Accreditation
VDS is provisionally accredited through the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD).
