New Mexico Secretary of Agriculture Jeff Witte appointed as vice chairman of EPA’s Local Government Advisory Committee
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt made a reappointment. New Mexico Secretary of Agriculture Jeff Witte was appointed once more to the Local Government Advisory Committee. Witte’s vice chairman appointment is from May 2018 to May 2020. Witte was first appointed by EPA Administrator Regina McCarthy in 2015.
Pruitt noted Witte’s experience, perspective and outstanding service as reasons for the reappointment.
“It’s an honor, …” said Witte. “I look forward to the opportunity to have direct input to EPA leadership on the many important policies …”
As a member of the LGAC, Witte represents state-appointed officials. The LGAC provides advice and recommendation to the EPA Administrator to assist in developing a stronger partnership with local governments. The committee also provides direction regarding building state and local capacity to deliver environmental services and programs.
